INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS
 
The journal publishes articles that do cover all different aspects of ergonomic research. Only articles that had not been presented or published elsewhere before can be handed. For articles that had been sent without request to the editor, no liability can be assumed.
 
The journal aims at improving the interdisciplinary exchange within the field of ergonomic research. Therefore, all articles should be written in a clear and short manner since they should also be accessible for readers of other discipline. Technical terms, that are not generally known have to be explained in the text. Please do avoid footnotes!
 
The quality of an article is judged by two different lecturers. Their decision is send to the author.
 
The article should follow a logical structure that is indicated –as far as possible- by headings introducing new paragraphs. In general, the article should observe the following structure:
1. introduction and presentation of the problem 2. methodology 3. results 4. discussion 5. conclusion 6. bibliography.
 
The article is to be handed in or sent to the editor under an electronic form!
 

Software:

We can work with the following text-files: doc, docx, txt, rtf. Please send the data with E-Mail (zfa-redaktion@zfa-online.de) or CD/DVD.
Use of Macintosh is not possible
 

Size :

Included pictures, tables, references, between 12 and 15 pages.
 

Contents :

The article must have the following sections :

  • Author description (Name and author title, surname (complete), Institutes- /Company- /Professorship with address)
  • Title in English, title in French, title in German
  • Key words in English, in French and in German
  • If the article is in German, we need a extended summary in English (2 pages), a summary in German (3-4 sentences) and a summary in French (3-4 sentences)
  • If the article is in English, we need a extended summary in German (2 pages), a summary in English (3-4 sentences) and a summary in French (3-4 sentences)
  • Practical relevance in German, English and in French (with 2-3 sentences each)
  • Article in German or in English
  • Bibliography

Bibliography

The text itself should contain literary references by naming the first or the first two authors of the book/article (Name year). The bibliography (at the end of the article) should contain the name and surname of the author (in alphabetical order; please do write in bold letters), the complete title of the article, the title of the journal (also abbreviations, if necessary), the issue number, the page numbers as well as the year of publication. Books have to be listed by indicating the name of the author, the title, the edition, the place of publication, the publishing house and the year of publication.
The bibliography references in the text should be presented with the
following rules :
 

(Author year) (only one author)
(Author1 & Author2 year) (if two authors)
(Author1 et al. year) (if more than two authors)

All sources of information should be separated with a semicolon (;), for example, (Author year; Author year)
  

Tables and
pictures

Tables and pictures have to be referenced in the text with number.
They have to authoring in an electronic form (white/black).
We need the tables in a text file. Pictures can be: jpg, bp, pdf …
Please put all captions for the tables and the graphics at the beginning
of the article.
 
You can use the following column widths for the pictures:
One-colluned: 53 mm
Two-collumned: 117 mm
Three-collumned: 180 mm
Markings: at least 10 points

 

Format

Please, use no pre-defined format
 

Margin / Page-Setup
 

No requirement

Type face The text can be written with fat letters, cursive or underlined. Please don’t use "return" key at the end of line but only at the end of paragraph.
 
Headings

The paragraphs title must have number and must be written according
to the following model:
1             XXX
1.1         XXX
1.1.1   XXX
The bibliography should have no number.
 

Summary and Keywords

 

  • If the article is in German, we need a extended summary in English (2 pages), a summary in German (3-4 sentences) and a summary in French (3-4 sentences)
  • If the article is in English, we need a extended summary in German (2 pages), a summary in English (3-4 sentences) and a summary in French (3-4 sentences)

The summary should inform the reader about the main content of the article. The extended summary should be more extensive.
 
The article should contain maximum 6 keywords in German, English and French, that are representative for the classification of the article into different fields of research.
 

Practical
Relevance
 
The economical and industrial signification of the topic presented in the article should appear under the category practical relevance (2 or 3 sentences; English, French, German).
Corrections We will send layout copies for correction to the author. Extensive changes require the allowance of the editor and are on charge of the author. The corrections should be affixed with the date and the signature of the author who releases by this the article for the print.
